Branding and Headshot Session for Kristine Grinvalde Photography | Riga, Latvia

What started out as a headshot swap with the beautiful and super talented Kristine of Kristine Grinvalde Photography, ended as friends enjoying good food and drinks while "talking shop". As photographers, it is easy to aways be taking pictures of others and forget that you yourself need some current, professional pictures. So Kristine and I made a plan to meet up for a couple quiet corners of Riga for our branding photographs.

This was my first time meeting Kristine, but of course she was just a joy to chat to, and we quickly found ourselves reminding us to get back to taking pictures!

Kristine brought along her Pompidoo Camera Bag, with which she had no problem turning me into a fan of! I had no idea that Latvia produced such a feminine, stylish and useful bag for photographers! (I am always a fan of shopping local and shopping small. So if you are a photographer in the market for a upgraded bag, I highly recommend checking them out!)

Within this last year of my business, I have adopted the term "Community over Competition" and forced myself to go out and meet other fellow photographers and creatives! Friends, there is just SO MUCH that we are able to learn from each other, and there is something so rich about coming together and sharing experiences rather than being afraid of "giving secrets to the competitors". I have met some AMAZING creatives both in Kansas City and even internationally who also share this mindset, and it is so beautiful to see how together we actually can grow with our skills, and also in our business! Even in my couple of weeks so far as being a resident of New Jersey, I have a met a few photographers from NJ and surrounding areas who are so sweet and have learned so much from others, that they are eager to pass on the knowledge!

Community is such a beautiful thing!!!
