Wedding Details I Love

Today we are talking details, details, DETAILS!! The details are all the little bits of style that the bride and groom has chosen to create the mood of their wedding day. They are what creates the unique look that is chosen over months of planning. And they are some of the things I am most excited about and make sure to block off enough time in the timeline to photograph!

So with that, I have created a little list of some of my favorite details if you are looking for a little inspiration.

1.) FRESH flowers!! Although many silk flowers are quite impressive with their replication of the real thing, nothing beats a bouquet or center piece gracing fresh cut flowers. This is listed as my number one favorite detail because if you know anything about me, it is that I have an impulsive habit of buying fresh flowers ALL THE TIME!

2.) Statement Shoes: Whether stunning white kicks or shoes with a pop of color or texture, I would say a pair of statement shoes is a must! Some of the popular trends that have me swooning are velvet blush colors and of course that sparkly heel!

3.) Vintage Ring Box: In all shapes, colors, and styles, finding a ring box to keep that jewel safe can be so much fun! The Mrs Box has quickly become a favorite of mine, but so many little Etsy shops also give a wide selection.

4.) Custom Cake: I usually have my eye on the desert table from the very beginning! (yes, I have a sweet tooth.) But I am also always amazed at the creativity and artistry that goes into cake decorating! And the trends of Donuts, cupcakes, and even crepes let a couple serve a desert that is unique to them.

5.) Something Borrowed, Something Blue: From heirloom necklaces, to air force lapel pins, and even a patch of Grandfather's shirt, I have seen so many brides include just a little piece of detail that holds so much purpose and sentiment. This is where things get really personal, and truly tells a story of what is important in life to the bride.

6.) Guest Books: The traditional guest book has evolved into so many creative options! The last wedding I photographed, the couple had a beautiful coffee table for their guests to sign! Not to mention living room plaques, mats for framed portraits, polaroid snap shots, and image books filled with engagement photos are also popular. Again, the options are endless!

Although it can be easy to get caught up in making the details of your big day as close to perfection as possible, let me end with a reminder that what it all boils down to is the fact that you and your love are committing your lives to each other, and that is what is of upmost importance. With that in mind, may you have lots of fun and creativity in deciding how you want to celebrate!

Happy planning!

xoxo, Erin
