Since discovering cultural celebrations is one of my favourite things when traveling, you can imagine my excitement when I was invited to my first African wedding. Or should I say... invited to be the photographer at my first African wedding! And what a beautiful experience to be a part of! 

 

The moment I walked into the door the evening before, there was dancing, singing, and peeling vegetables. Yes... peeling vegetables! And it was no small pile of vegetables. Everybody worked together with so much joy to prepare for the celebration. From beginning to end, it was a community endeavor.

 

One thing that stood out to me throughout the wedding day, was the laughter that poured out of the bride. Shouldn't joy always be a side effect of love?
